I thought I had lost my handbag and the waiter in the restaurant helped me look for it, I found it in my bedroom! Then at Breakfast I ordered Smoked Salmon and the waitress said are you the pink lady, as I was wearing a pink cardigan, I liked the touch. The waiter had written on the order the "pink lady".

    The food was great.

The room are quiet old and need to be upgraded to new standard

The ambiance. The location. The lounge and restaurant

the location requires the guest to drive on some very narrow roads. This did not present a problem for me, but could be a problem for some drivers.

The hotel was well situated for us as we had a Graduation at Guildford University to attend for our son. Our room was clean and spacious, the staff were friendly and helpful and the food was good. The location of the hotel in the surrey hills is stunning.

Our only negative tip of the hotel is that our room was maybe a little shabby in parts.

The reception staff are always very friendly particularly the Gentleman who is always there when we go and remembers us, he has a polish accent we cant remember his name. It is very relaxed and easy.

The only problem we encounter is trying to get a local taxi to Hurtwood school which is only 5 minutes away but costs £25 each way as they have to come from Guildford. The location of the Inn to the school makes it an attractive location but this can add £50 to your trip on top of the £50 to get to and from the Hotel from Guildford station. The cost then mounts up If the hotel could provide a lift on these occasions or speak to the school about a school bus collecting any families from the Inn when there are events on and also a return bus that would be very attractive. As it may cause customers to consider staying in Guildford to save the additional taxi cost.

food good - and service staff (duty manager/s)good; an enjoyable stay which we would repeat. The first room that we stayed in on the first night very good - Room 15; - but the second room not so good. i think room 21? At the top of the hotel.

I specified that we required a room with a bath - rather than a shower on the booking details box on-line. This we did not have on arrival - so we were given room 15 which was very good indeed. as this was booked by others for the second night, we were then given a room upstairs for the second night, which again had a shower - which initiated yet another room change! room 21. We were then given a room in the outside chalet(with bath) which we did not like, smelt damp and needed to be cleaner(carpet not clean), so we had to change yet again. I think we were given room 25; we were told that it was haunted?! If all rooms were like Room 15 - then this Hotel would be excellent. So we actually moved 4 times for a two night stay. having said all this - the male duty managers dealt with our concerns as best they could, and in courteous manner.

The food was excellent and the staff were friendly and efficient.

The room had stains on the carpet and I do not like bathrooms without a proper shower. Freeview tvs are not expensice these days so it would have been nice to have a better tv in the room - I was travelling on business and nights away from my are long and hard enough and would have been made easier by more choice of tv channels.

The only thing in this hotel was country side, very nice and the evening meal, but very poor service, not smally .... Food was excellent

Cleanless for the rooms : dusty everywere, just 1 shampoo/gel for 3 persons, matress terrible ... Cleanless in the around war poor - Breakfast in the morning was terrible : croissant from the microwave (hard ...), english breakfast without beans ... marmelade on a poor buffet in a pot (look net nice and appetize). The day before we was in a other inn hotel but really a big difference and that one was more expensive ...

Hotel was in a small quite village. Superior room met our needs, it was clean and comfortable. We eat in the restraunt where the service was and food was very good, as was the bar area.

To use the kettle you had to move it to a plug behind the television and then strech to plug it in, in our opinion not ideal. This same plug was also used for the hairdrier. The television was somewhat outdated and the tuning of the channels was poor, only 3 were watchable, there was no sky or freeview channels.

It's a beautiful location and nobody bothers you. Service is exemplary and the bed was so comfortable and very clean. It was the next best thing to staying at home!

Friendly people. Willing to serve food at 1030 in evening

Cold room which had seen better days

The coffee served was poor, when asked for a cafetiere which was given the day before was told that it was too expensive and should not have been given previously. Soap not replaced. It seems like they are trying to make economies.
